How many photos?

Gardening in mini size, this is a little look at the cupcakes miniature garden for the Cath Kidston competition. We will revel more later on in June. Do you believe in fairies? Shhh!

Making something one off for my Mummy.

Bless her she ordered this mini dust pan and brush set in feb and got bumped to the back of my to do list until now, (sorry Mum) i know you love it and say it was worth the wait. Thanks for being patient with me. I got there in the end and enjoyed doing this one off piece just for you. Now you can brush any cake crumbs up in style lol

Wow wasn't today a fabulous one. We had bright sunshine with us down at Whitstable and enjoyed some yummy chips on the sea front. Little Granny came along for the day and had some cod with hers. Followed by ice-cream. Just the thing on a lovely day like this.

Daisy will now show us all on how to eat your ice-cream in the best possible way lol

Step one place said chocolate ice-cream in here....

lay head to one side and finger in mouth and lick said chocolate ice-cream around face....

remove finger, swallow and tar-da chocolate ice-cream is all gone lol apart from the load around ones little cupcake face and down top and trousers LOL

And that was how to eat your chocolate ice-cream by miss Daisy Short aka little mucky cupcake pup. Her next lesson will be on how to eat from the jar of Mummies homemade lavender sugar and get it all over the kitchen floor, cats, sofa and ones self. Hehe!

Those of you that know Whitstable on the sea front there is a collection on shed like buildings filled with wonderful old reclaimed furniture and other vintage nick knacks. And today the lovely lady looking after this one brought her Stanley doggy along. Just look how cute he is.

Molly was totally smitten with him and now wants one for her self. I must admit if we ever get our small holding. A Stanley pup is up there on the top of the to get list along with the chickens, running ducks and cow (for milk). The lady very kindly let me take this photo of Molly with him. So I thought I'd say another thank you to her by popping the website to all the fabulous reclaimed and painted items for sale. If you visit do go along for a look, there is some lovely stuff to be had. I could of bought loads. http://www.kentandlondon.co.uk/

Now on to last week and just look what the postie brought me. This very beautiful parcel from my Rose swap partner Mel which she has organised.

Thank you so much Mel for all the lovely Rosie items. I can't wait to use the rose water in some cupcakes and the tin is already in use for some ribbons. The tiny trinket box is home to my bird necklace every night and the cupcakes have nicked the rose basket for their bedroom. I do hope you like all the items, some of which I've hand made and never made before. If there is any doggy stitches I'm sorry honey but i haven't got the hang of my sewing machine just yet and did it all by hand.

I've also done the friends swap organised by Beki and as promised here are the photos of what i sent.

F was for fabric lavender cushion, R for rolling pin, I for iron on's, E for egg cup & eggs (chocolate ones), N for needle case & needles, D for daisy brooch and S for shoulder bag. Thanks again to Mandy my swap partner for all the lovely items you sent me. x

Last week also saw us all up the allotment nearly every evening, digging out more beds, weeding and planting in new things. One of which has grown in to a Ben plant lol that will need to come out LOL

We had to cover these cabbage and broccoli plants because of the cheeky wood pigeons but Ben told me the other night when up there watering he saw one just walk right under it all lol flaming things. So it's all pegged down now, no more free veg for them.

The potatoes are going crazy in this old barrel, yum if it's full of them. Fingers crossed.
And it's not all fruit and veg there are some beautiful flowers up there too. These are lovely and look like fried eggs. Next time I'm there I'll take a photo of the bee hotel, it's the most amazing plant I've ever seen and you're see why it has that name.
The cupcakes also now have their own piece of allotment to call their own and we've got pretty dotty windmills to put in and they are going to plant some bits and bobs too. Not sure what just yet but i can guess who will be weeding, yes Mummy. While they play with the bugs and butterflies lol
Have a great week and enjoy the rest of the bank holiday, we're off to a 4th birthday party today 25th May and I've baked chocolate cupcakes for it.
Lots of fun to you all.
See you soon x

Oh why did you have to rain today?

This was the beautiful weather for last years first old rectory sale, they hold about 3 a year and this one was gorgeous sunshine but today's sale was no where near as a pretty picture. Sadly the heavens opened up on the way over and poured and poured some more when we got there. Fingers crossed for the next one in a couple of months time.

We didn't let it dampen our spirits and trooped on, looking through the wonderful rooms filled with anything and everything vintage. Little Granny came along this time, as she'd spied the poster for it on our fridge and jumped at the chance to come along for a nosy around. She bought us all cake to put even bigger smiles on our wets faces before we left. I came away with the beautiful eiderdown photoed above, it was my very last buy of the day and actually Ben took me back there before they closed to get it as I'd ummmed and awwwed about it and watched as it got wetter and wetter under the console table it was hiding on. Until i said to myself no be happy with what you've got already. But that lovely man of mine took me back and i said if it's there it's meant to come home with us. And it was, i think no one else had bothered to pick it up due to the pouring rain because as luck would have it there was only a tiny piece of it wet. And no marks or rips on it anywhere and at £35 it wasn't going to break the bank. I love it and am so happy to have gone back for it, it will be coming to feather down farms on our next holiday there in a couple of months. Just right for snuggles under the stars, don't you think?

I think i had my very pretty eyes on today because i also got these lovely 2 items, a old fashioned pinny and very flat seat cover. Which I'll be refilling and making all plump again.

I picked these red knitting needles up in our local little junk shop. Maybe now i have them i can finally learn to knit lol and i just couldn't leave the real French Bonne Maman jar with it's price in franks on it. I'll fill it with buttons or cotton reels very soon. Photoed them while the light was good, so i thought I'd share them too.

Now back to the sale and yes more books came home with us. We still have most (well nearly all )our books still packed away in boxes, as we can't put up any shelves they've kind of been forgotten. It's just finding that right book case. No luck at the sale today. The one i did see was already sold. One will come along that's right for us and it's fun looking in the mean time.
And even more fun adding to our collection lol The Country Compendium and Poultry Practice are for my farmer Ben. Did you know that a flock of crows are called a murder? And a clutch or chattering of chicks. It's good to know these things they may come in handy one day LOL

The cupcakes collection is growing bigger and bigger by the week too. They will need a bigger book case soon in their bedroom. And choosing a bedtime story is getting harder each time. One of my favourites is Alice in wonderland, this book is filled with the most fabulous pictures and i love the eat me, drink me part. And who knows Topsy and Tim? I've never heard of these before and am so glad I've found them now. They are just adorable little books. I can't wait to read them to the cupcakes. Their rosy cheeks put a smile on the dullest of days like today. Come sun don't hide away. Please come out tomorrow after a good nights rest lol
And on that note, it's time for me to wish you a good night and go and get a cuppa decaf myself.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, what did you do? and where did you go? I'll catch up with you all in the week.
Ps. To Mandy my friends swap buddy, sorry I'm so crap and didn't get out to the post office last week. Please forgive me, it will be posted bright and early tomorrow. X

Fabric Friday

I was just sorting through my fabric box and i thought I'd share some of it with you all. I also won this fab book that I've been after for a while now on good old Ebay. Now i just have to choose something from it and make a start. lol
I had a fab Wednesday out with the ever so lovely Claire from pixie land. Even though i was some what car, air and about everything sickie. Thankfully i wasn't actually sick. I think it was the close weather that day. I still managed to have a fab time and it soon went then we got to this wonderful shop, look at the pretty fabric i got in Miss CK's. Only £12 a metre, bargain! This will be on my craft table at the 2 fairs I'm doing this Spring and Summer. I also came away with a dress for Molly, Stanley cushion for Daisy and new purse for me. Happy times lol Thanks Claire for spending the day with a nearly ever so ill miss cupcake. We must do it again soon. Big hugs, X
Now my stash of fabric is no where near as wonderful as some of yours and i never know really know what I'm going to make with the pieces i buy. But they all get used in the end. I do hope that my lovely swap partner Mandy likes her handmade items, i really want to show you photos off it all but will wait until she's received it first.
For now here is some more of my pretty pieces.
Have a good weekend and enjoy what ever your doing.

Fire up Monday nights

Oh how i love Monday nights now that Ashes to Ashes is back, after over a years wait. The only thing is i don't want it to end now, if they make me wait another year to find out if Alex Drake gets back to her Molly, I'll scream lol
There is something about the 80's. The clothes, hair and music. Oh to be that young again.
I'd of liked to work a long side DCI Hunt, is it just me or is there something about him? Please tell me I'm not the only one that finds him oh so yummy. (sorry Ben) i know you like DI Drake too lol
And have you seen him in the Calender girls? he's soo young. Fabulous film, i got it for my Mummy on Mothers day and she's watched it loads.

Roll on next week's episode x fire up the Quattro

Spring pegs, some fab finds, some chickens, May fair fun and growing something new on the allotment.

Mollycupcakes as gone all green. With my new apple green colour for Spring. These dotty pegs will be in my new washing line range. The sets will be varnished to protect them in all weathers and i think will brighten up those grey washing days. Pretty pegs hung a line of freshly washed linens would put a smile on my face any day lol
Watch out for these little lovelies and some other items in this fabulous apple green http://www.mollycupcakes.co.uk/

A couple of weekends ago we picked up little Granny and went off to the Delting fair. Not much there this time but i did get a few nice bits. Another pudding bowl, don't how many of these i really need lol i must have about 5 or 6 now hehe! A cute red handled melon baller and butter pads, for when one day i can make my own butter blocks from our cow Florence (a girl can dream). I can just see me now in a green polka dot dress, straw in my hair, red wellies and a chicken under one arm lol
We ended our trip with a little picnic next to some sheep in a field, yummy sandwiches, juice and naughty cakes from little Granny. Perfick!
Now on to last Saturday, off we went to Badger-hill-farm, it's sort of our second home in the Spring and Summer months. We've been there so many times now they will know what we want before we order it lol

Ben loves the ploughman's, i love the cream tea (but have their real coffee instead) and the cupcakes big and small love any of the cakes.
And we all love the chickens lol
Cheeky lot they'll eat anythings that is going or on offer lol Daisy wasn't to keen on the cockerel's because they are just about the same height as her and she thinks they are going to eat her fingers hehe! But miss Molly and Jade just try to pick them all up for cuddles. Good luck girls they can run faster than you LOL
Any way we had a lovely time, it's well worth a visit if you're in the area or on you're way to or from Canterbury.
Rochester saw it's Sweeps festival this weekend and the weather was so nice on Saturday it was packed out in the town that's why we went off somewhere else instead. But on Sunday it was a little more unsettled until the afternoon. So i took the cupcakes big and small off down there to see all the Morris and May pole dancers. Go on the fair ground rides and eat candy floss.
Up in the castle grounds where the fair was we came across a fabulous fairy tent and paid the pixie on the door £2 a cupcake and then spent 45 mins listening to a fairy tell us a story of how making fairy crowns came about. And then we got to make our own. Making the wild flowers out of tissue paper because you can't pick any of the wild flowers for real.
Aren't they lovely even big sis made one. And she worn it all the way home too. She looks just like a fairy princess.
You can find out all about the fairy tents and wild flowers here and maybe even find the inner fairy in you.
I had to share with you this new sort of Daisy we're growing ready to plant up at the allotment. It's a very rare Daisy, the giggling and cheeky kind LOL She likes to be fed sweets and drinks lots of juice. Place in a sunny spot and water well...
No really this was the sight that i was greeted with yesterday afternoon, while sitting in doors chatting to little Granny and having a coffee. Miss Daisy flower with the help of Miss Mollycupcake. Dug a small hole in the garden, just big enough for tiny feet to stand in and filled it with rain water from our water butt. The words "oh my god" came from me and "look Mummy get the camera" from Daisy lol well how could i be cross with that. 3 photos later and she was in the house, washed feet and hands (because they couldn't be left out of the muddy water, sigh!) and she was all sparkly clean again. I just used to make mud pies and cakes not paddle in it. What will she get up to with the help of Molly next? Her skin is very soft now, so mud really does work. lol
Just to end this ever so long post, not bored yet are you? hehe! here are a couple of photos of our little patch at the allotments. And they don't look like this any more. Ben has planted lots of different veg.
And we've helped Fern (our neighbour that owns it) with clearing other parts too, which we can now use also. I love the digging, it's so good to see it all weed free. Argh! it's the good life for this cupcake family.
I'll get more new photos over the weekend, that's if the sun shines.
Have a lovely weekend.
And to all of you fabulous blogger's in my blogs i love to read list, sorry if I've not been keeping up with you, it's just been so busy here. And thank you and big hugs and love from the bottom of my heart to each and every one of you in it and those of you that leave me lovely comments. And i will try very hard to get back to you other the next few weeks.
Cupcake wishes to all x x x
Love x
