It's good to have friends

I am just so over whelmed by all your kindness, starting this blog is one of the best things I've done. I have made and found some amazing friends on here. And want to give each and everyone of you a big cyber hug for all the lovely supportive words and strength you're giving me at this sad time.

The funeral is next Friday and then a little get together afterwards back at Granny's to remember the wonderful man Grandad was. And will always be in our hearts.
Thank you everyone, you're helping by just being there. And you all put a smile back on my face when I read what you've left. X X X

Enjoy a lovely weekend, rain or shine.

Many hugs

Catherine x

The blog world is amazing, as you say. I have found such amazing support from everyone on here after losing our baby, I don't know what I would do without it.

Hi Catherine
I haven't read your blog for a while and was catching up. I am so sorry to hear about your grandad. Alzheimers is a horrible illness isn't it? My Gran had it too and we watched her slip away from us year after year until there was just a shell of a person where my wonderful vibrant Gran had been. I still feel robbed as she died at 70 but had been ill for years.

I wish you much love and strength at this sad time.

Hey Molly,

So sorry to hear your news. Just take it slow and grieve at your own pace, there is no 'right' amount of time. I am thinking of you.

I remember talking to a woman in our village whose husband had died. Her family came from down South for the funeral, including her small grandchildren. One of the grandsons looked at all the sympathy cards on the mantlepiece and said "hasn't Grandad got a lot of going away cards"? I thought that was a fantastic way of looking at it through a childs eyes.
