Oh to be a winner! but runners up place isn't all that bad

A while a go i made this Mothers Day card and emailed it to the lovely Cath Kidston for the make a mothers day card competition.

To my surprise here it is in the runners up photo, it's 4th down from the top on the right. (can you see it!) lol I can't believe i made it on to here again, does everyone that entered get on here or just a few of the favourites? I'd love to know as i was on here last with my paint an Easter egg too. Anyway I'm so pleased and thanks Cath if you liked it, you've made my day X
Did anyone else join in? please share with me if you did. I'm sure there must of been more than this sent in.
Hope you've all had a good week, yeay! it's Friday tomorrow and that means nearly the weekend again.
Right I'm off to paint some pegs for the fabulous Claire from Made In Pixieland or Elfie & Me. She's working on something a little special that will be on sale in her web shop very soon and has me on broad to help. Thanks sweetie for asking, I'm happy to help and am looking forward to our coffee and cake next week. Thanks for this afternoon I needed a break. It was good to pop round and chat. x
Big hugs,

Easter Sunday By The Sea

It's a little late but what with the break and now the first week back to playgroup over and done with, times just got away with me. We enjoyed the Easter Sunday down at Whitstable, you know how it is, you wake up no plans and then someone says those magic words "lets go to the seaside" cheers and screams of happiness fill the cupcake house and off we go. Looking in some of the fab little shops down there first, can't believe our luck they are open today of all days.
Loving this window with it's Easter feel (not the best photo, sorry) and just falling in love with this cute Easter hen knitting her, egg cosies lol
I have to say a big hello and sorry to the lovely lady working in Taking The Plunge shop, for coming up to me and saying your Mollycupcakes aren't you! i was so taken a back that someone knew who i was from my blog page lol that i never asked you who you where and what with the cupcakes wanting to play with every wooden toy and Mr Cupcakes waiting to go and get chips at the door, i never got to stop and chat. I sorry if you thought i was rude by not asking you, it's just like rounding up sheep sometimes with the cupcakes and if Mr Cupcakes doesn't eat in time well you know how it is lol I will pop in another time and have a nice chat with you. In the meantime if you do read this, please leave me a comment and let me know if you to have a blog. Thanks lovely lady, it was fabulous of you to say hello.

After chips and cold drinks on the beach, it's off for sweets and...
...ice-creams.
Daisy's one is nearly as big as her lol but she ate the lot.
Back down to the beach for some pebble collecting.

And sitting enjoying the sunshine and chatting.

A short walk a long the beach and there was a lovely open art studio, just look at the colours of that bunting against the blue sky and green hedge. Is Summer on it's way? It really felt like it on this day, we all ended up wearing just our small tops and leaving the coats in the car. Can't remember the last we did that.
We walked and walked for what seemed like forever and small cupcakes ran and ran. Just watching them made us feel knackered, even miss teen cupcake said i don't know how they do it. But i think we where all glad to come across this lovely little corner store, stocked with cold drinks, fresh fruit and yummy old sweets. Cute seats outside for a much needed rest before waking back to the car. I must remember to take a photo of inside the store next time, because the sweets are displayed in the cutest chest of draws, with all the wrappers stuck on the front of each draw. Fab idea and so simple and it looks so old fashioned and eye catching.

Our first Monday before playgroup we where lucky enough to get yes more sun, so filled with yummy jam and custard doughnuts the cupcakes set about some arty fun in our garden.

Colouring in the pebbles they'd collected from the beach, such a simple and easy way to keep them happy. I love that they want to be creative and have a fabulous imagination. I'll photo the pebbles another time. Molly gave her ones all little faces and Daisy stuck stickers on hers.
Taking them back to playgroup on Tuesday was odd and the house was so quite for a few hours. Daisy oddly enough cried this week when i was leaving, breaking my heart each time. But I'm sure it's just a thing she's going through because we've had 2 weeks together. It's funny because everyday in the Easter break she woke up and said "is it playgroup today" lol argh! kids, don't you just love them LOL
Don't miss out on the bunnies, hop on to this page they're hopping away fast. x
Have a good week.

Getting our hands dirty and a little piece of allotment for Mr and Miss Cupcakes and their little cupcakes.

Powered with lots of these...
...and watched over from above
we all got stuck into our lovely little garden, well i say we but really i mean some of me and mostly Ben (farmer and veg grower Ben) his new nick name from me lol
Just look at how over grown the weeds where and look now...
...tar darrr! there is only a very small patch at the back, which i plan to attack next week. Daisy's so happy about it all she just ran around.
And Miss Molly got stuck in too, she's digging her way to Neverland lol and she's taking juice, crisps, a cushion and gloves, well you never know do you! LOL
These are only some of the first photos, farmer Ben has planted lots more now and I've put in some lovely flowers too. Just not got around to doing new photos. I will.
You can see that we've made it in to a fun game for the cats, now they have to do a bit of acrobatics's if they want to have a poo on this lot of baby beetroots and spring onions lol sadly the tiny pumpkin in the picture didn't make it. Due to being rather tasty to the slugs, but the beer traps are down now so it's bye bye to them. They are very, very drunk lol hic-up!
We have the most amazing Rosemary bush on one side, it was getting a little over hung so I've cut her back and now have loads of the stuff. If anyone would like any bags of it for crafting with e.g. like lavender hearts but with rosemary instead, please just email me. Molly and i started to strip off the wonderful smelling leafs, so i can just pop them into little bags for posting.
This weekend has just seen us all up at our local allotments, our very kind and lovely neighbour Fern has let us have a piece of hers. So we've been digging and weeding and making plans to what to plant in there. Ben (sorry farmer Ben hehe!) has taken some baby sweetcorn, peppers and chili up there ready to be popped in when it's all cleared.
The cupcakes love it there and want to help dig, dig and dig some more lol but they won't no matter how many times we ask, take out the green bits (weeds) and put them into a pile lol
Oh well they are helping in their own little way. And learning about fruit and veg, so that is a fabulous thing.
We got a beautiful apple tree today and i can't wait to have our very first crop off it. A long with the blueberries and strawberries, which i have lots of plans for. Fruity muffins for breakfast and apple crumble for tea. Any takers?
I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend and aren't to sad to see Easter come to an end for another year. It will run until the end of April in the cupcake house, as i can't bear to put any of it away.
Much love,

Why does Easter have to end?

Our Easter has been a fabulous one this year and I'm sad to see it come to an end. I baked lots of Easter cupcakes and decorated them with eggs, chicks and flowers. I also put my arty side to the test with my first ever Easter bonnets for the cupcakes. Little Granny is modeling one with style and grace below. Eat your heart out Kate Moss our Granny's got the Easter look! lol
Organic chocolate cupcakes with choc fudge icing and teeny weeny eggs and a sprinkle of glitter. They went down very well at the fair and at home.

The cupcakes joined in an Easter bonnet parade, egg rolling competition and egg hunt. They came back with lots of treats. And yes Daisy had her face painted lol she's not just very mucky, she's a pirate (don't ask! i sigh lol).
A table full of bonnets, can you see which ones where made by the mum's? LOL I'm glad i wasn't the only one.
After the fair the cupcakes didn't want to take their bonnets off, so i got some more photos, they look so cute. I think we're keep these somewhere safe and bring them out next year. I loved making them, sewing on all those little chicks and flowers.
Fluffy yellow chicks just cry out Easter to me and you can never have enough in my book. It's sad when they all have to be put away but so lovely to see them next time round. Our house still has teeny weeny eggs, creme and whole chocolate eggs coming out of our ears. Have you all eaten yours? I like looking at them in the jar, they're such pretty colours. The jar does seem to be looking less full, Mr Mollycupcakes is that you? lol

It's nearly the end of the Easter break now for all us mum's back to the old normal next week. Trips back and forth to playgroups and schools. And don't we miss them once they're back. Roll on the Summer when we can have endless days at Whitstable, eating chips, ice creams and sweets. Walk around all the lovely little shops and sea front. Then back home with salt in our hair and sand in our feet. Wonderful, just wonderful.

Happy Birthday Mummy x x x

Have a wonderful day Mama, sending you all the wishes across the Irish sea from Rochester and into your arms. I know you've not had the best of news about Dad but try and put it to one side just for today and have some pampering and you time. You really deserve it with everything you do.

Thinking of you more as it's been a year now since we where last together, how time fly's. The little ones aren't so little anymore.
And the big one, well she's 14 going on 24 lol
I hope you have a lovely day. I'm here for you each and everyday. On the end of a phone or on the key of the computer or a hop skip and jump across the sea.
Love you Mum, glad you enjoyed the birthday cupcakes and that they got there in one piece and not pieces lol
